A new sci-fi movie starring Megan Fox was released earlier this year. Now the Megan Fox film, which was initially panned by critics, is available to stream on Netflix. Surprisingly enough, however, it appears to be the top movie currently streaming on the platform!
This surprising feat, which at the time of this writing, has the new Megan Fox flick at the number one spot on Netflix’s Top 10 category in the United States. While the film didn’t gross much at the box office when it was first released on September 13, 2024, it seems to be performing much better digitally.
In addition to Megan Fox, the film also stars Michele Morrone, Madeline Zima, Matilda Firth, and Andrew Whipp. It was written by Will Honley and April Maguire and directed by S.K. Dale. The story revolves around the concept of artificial intelligence, which in today’s world, is more relevant than ever before.
The film, titled Subservience, specifically revolves around the character played by Megan Fox – Alice – which happens to be an android powered by artificial intelligence. She’s purchased by a man who wants to help his family while his wife is sick, and while Alice does help at first, she soon becomes possessed by feelings of jealousy to win over her owner’s affection.
It’s not a wholly original premise, but with Megan Fox as the film’s antagonist, it certainly makes sense why Netflix viewers are being drawn to this particular title. At a time when both Fox and concepts surrounding artificial intelligence are quite popular, Subservience seems like an easy pick when navigating Netflix’s catalogue of films and shows.
