Cancellations on Max have become increasingly common in recent years. However, there’s one cancellation from when the service was still titled HBO Max that still has the show’s creators “deeply frustrated.” Of course, fans no doubt feel the same, so it seems to be a disappointing decision for everyone that the HBO Max series was canceled.
The television series in particular was created by Aaron Guzikowski, Ridley Scott, and David W. Zucker. In a recent interview with Ridley Scott’s studio team, who are heavily involved with Scott’s company Scott Free, they were asked about their feelings regarding the former HBO Max series.
Sadly, the president of Scott Free’s TV division, Clayton Krueger, explained that they’re all devastated by the show’s cancellation. In fact, he believes that the series just barely “found its footing” which would have no doubt meant future seasons could have only gotten better with time.
Here’s what he shared via THR about the series which was none other than Raised By Wolves:
“It was deeply frustrating. We really were creatively positioned to start up. We had broken the season, we had the team together. We felt like the show really found its footing.”
For those unfamiliar, the canceled HBO Max series Raised by Wolves is a science-fiction drama series that lasted for two seasons on Max from 2020 to 2022. It revolves around two androids named Father and Mother who must raise a colony of human children on an alien planet known as Kepler-22b after Earth is destroyed.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the work of Ridley Scott and his company, Scott Free, as we have them. While it’s unfortunate that their HBO Max series Raised by Wolves was canceled, it’s at least nice to see that the studio has still had many other successful projects either released in the years since or in development.
