The Marvel Cinematic Universe recently collided with a number of different continuities for the release of Deadpool & Wolverine. Of course, as the title suggests, the main focus of the film is on Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Now, due to the success of the film, a sequel to Deadpool & Wolverine is reportedly on the way.
Of course, this might not be surprising for fans. After all, Deadpool & Wolverine made massive numbers at the box office in addition to appealing to both fans and critics. Obviously this makes a sequel a no-brainer. And, while the studio has yet to announce any official plans, insider @MyTimeToSHineH on X suggests they’re “already discussing.”
Here’s what the insider had to share:
“I hear they’re already discussing a Deadpool & Wolverine sequel.”

On that note, @MyTimeToShineH doesn’t have much else to offer at this time. However, if they’re only having discussions about a possible follow-up, then it’s certainly too early to have any story details available. Fortunately, Deadpool & Wolverine still managed to open up plenty of doorways for Deadpool and Wolverine to both explore in the future.
Many fans have suspected that the next appearance for these characters would be in one of the upcoming Avengers films. After all, either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, if not both, will no doubt make room for each of the characters to join the action. If a direct sequel to the recent Deadpool outing happens, however, then we could see even more of both Reynolds and Jackman (likely after the release of these two Avengers films, but anything certainly is possible.)
Hopefully we’ll have more details soon and whether or not discussions really are happening at Marvel Studios. Given the success of the film, however, it’s probably a safe bet that the return of these characters is already being planned. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more news as we have it.
