Netflix has subscribers quite upset with their latest cancellation. It’s just been revealed that a new series, which premiered via Netflix in August of this year, has already been canceled. As such, it’s been prematurely axed with only one season on the platform.
This has fans on social media expressing their disappointment. Some feel as though the series was not marketed enough, especially when they’ve only heard of it because it was canceled. Others are simply tired of giving shows a chance when they know they’ll be canceled prematurely.
As for why this particular series was canceled, it seems to have failed to find a fanbase despite having reached into the Netflix Top 10 during its first four weeks. This seemed to be more than enough reason for Netflix not to bother trying with an additional season.
As noted by Variety, here’s what happened with Kaos:
“The show did spend four weeks in the Netflix top 10 charts upon its release, but failed to garner a significant audience in that time. It peaked at number three on the English language TV chart in its second week of availability, with its peak viewership hitting just 5.9 million views.”
A few of the complaints shared by fans on the social media platform X include the following reactions:
It’s just not worth investing time into shows that’ll just be canceled or that you’ll lose interest in after 1-3 years between seasons. We all got scammed with streaming!

Interestingly, Kaos star Aurora Perrineau issued their own statement regarding the cancellation in an Instagram post that has since been deleted. As such, it’s clear that the cast and crew are just as upset by the show’s cancellation as fans or subscribers.
For those unfamiliar, the series is a comedy show that utilizes Greek mythology in a modern-day setting. The plot takes off when Prometheus, using the help of three humans, decides to overthrow Zeus. Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum stars in the series as Zeus, the iconic god that once chained up Prometheus.
Other cast members included Janet McTeer as Hera, Aurora Perrineau as Eurydice, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, David Thewlis as Hades, Rakie Ayola as Persephone, Killian Scott as Orpheus, Leila Farzad as Ariadne, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, Debi Mazar as Medusa, Stephen Dillane as Prometheus, Misia Butler as Caeneus, Mat Fraser as Daedalus, Stanley Townsend as Minos, Billie Piper as Cassandra, Suzy Eddie Izzard as Lachesis, and Cathy Tyson as Alecto.
