The Marvel Cinematic Universe consists of a wealth of different films and television shows. As such, Disney’s streaming service Disney Plus has become the perfect hub to offer these different projects to fans. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean certain shows get to last forever, and it appears as though Disney may have recently – and quietly – canceled a fan-favorite Marvel show.
This particular Marvel show first premiered on Disney Plus in 2021, and ended up so far receiving two seasons, for a total of 46 episodes. Unfortunately, since the second season premiered in 2023, there hasn’t been any sign since that the show will continue.
Now some fans are theorizing on Reddit that it may have been canceled altogether.
As you can see from the below post, one fan simply asked the following question:
“Has Marvel Studios Legends (the Disney+ recap series) been discontinued?”
Has Marvel Studios Legends (the Disney+ recap series) been discontinued?

It’s a good question, especially since a number of Marvel projects have been released in 2024 but without any accompanying recaps from Marvel Studios: Legends. However, while some fans do believe it has been canceled especially as Marvel Studios reworks their workload and budgetary costs, others suggest that there has simply been no need for the show as of late.
One such reason is that the characters being focused on this year are either newcomers with brief enough histories that they don’t require recaps. It’s a valid theory – though without any official confirmation from Marvel Studios, it remains to be seen whether or not the series is simply waiting to make a comeback or if it really has been canceled altogether.
Hopefully we’ll know more soon as other MCU feature films are dropped in the near future. Otherwise, we could very well see the end of another fan-favorite Marvel show on Disney Plus, something which is sure to disappoint fans that have been watching the series over the last few years.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any other updates related to Marvel Studios and the possible cancellation of Marvel Studios: Legends. It’s certainly disappointing to know the series might not continue, but at least fans had the opportunity to receive some greater insight and behind-the-scenes knowledge while it lasted.
