The Marvel Cinematic Universe has opened up a number of doorways for various franchise stars to reappear. Perhaps most notably is that the franchise has introduced the “Multiverse,” a way for non-MCU adaptations to remain canon in alternate universes, all of which can now connect with one another. As such, one beloved Marvel star has teased their own comeback through the MCU.
After the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, a movie which reintroduced several major X-Men characters and other Marvel heroes under the MCU banner, it certainly seems likely that we can expect other such familiar faces in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The two Avengers films are said to lean even further into the “Multiverse” concept, and one star from Fox’s former X-Men franchise hopes it will allow her to return.
This particular Marvel star teased as much while speaking with Josh Wilding from ComicBookMovie. The two discussed the possibility of her return in a new YouTube video. Here’s what she shared:
“Perhaps you never know,” says Halle Berry, the star who once played Storm in several live-action X-Men movies. “We’ll find out, fingers crossed.”
She responded in such a way after being asked if her character, Storm, might appear in either of the new Avengers movies. While Berry wasn’t able to confirm anything, she certainly doesn’t rule out the possibility, so perhaps we could see her make a comeback after all. Berry has certainly expressed wanting to do so for quite some time now.
In the meantime, fans will be able to see Halle Berry once again on the big screen in a completely different project. She’ll be appearing in Alexandre Aja’s new movie Never Let Go which hits theaters on September 20, 2024.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more Marvel Cinematic Universe news as we have it. Though nothing is concrete regarding Halle Berry’s involvement in the MCU, fans would certainly love to see her come back as Storm, and the new Avengers movies would certainly be the perfect place for her to do so.
