The Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuing to lean into the LGBTQ side of things. It’s been said that Agatha All Along, the upcoming Disney Plus series revolving around the character from WandaVision, will be the franchise’s “gayest project to date.”
As shown below, several interviews have brought the description up to the Disney Plus show’s cast. This includes responses from creator Jac Schaeffer and stars Sasheer Zamata and Aubrey Plaza.
Schaeffer added the following when asked:
“I will take that and I will love that and I will tuck that under my pillow at night. This show is about love, found family and theatricality, and [about] the good, fabulous, well-styled kind of nastiness.”

Here’s what Zamata first said about the series and how “witches are queer inherently” as depicted in Agatha All Along:

For Plaza, however, she responded much more directly when asked about Agatha All Along being the MCU’s gayest project with a particularly on-brand joke:
“It better be, ’cause that’s what I signed up for.”
She also said:
“It will be a gay explosion by the end of it.”

Of course, this isn’t completely surprising. It has been said that one of the show’s stars, gay actor Joe Locke, will be playing a gay character in the series named Teen. It seems as though his role in the show will have a heavy impact as its story unfolds. As such, viewers will know what to expect when walking into this series and experiencing the new story of Agatha Harkness.
The series stars Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza.
The new series Agatha All Along premieres on September 18, 2024, with episodes released weekly until October 30. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Marvel Cinematic Universe updates as we have them. In the meantime, fans will have to see how Agatha All Along turns out following its Disney Plus debut, and whether or not it is as gay as everyone involved has stated so far.
