The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a number of highly-anticipated projects in the works for both film and television. One of these projects, the Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again, is set to reintroduce the titular character to the MCU. Unfortunately, however, it looks like one major Marvel character has actually been cut from Daredevil: Born Again.
Many beloved MCU characters have been slated to appear in Daredevil: Born Again, many of which originally debuted in the preceding Daredevil series. This includes Charlie Cox as the titular character, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher.
Now, however, we know that a character introduced elsewhere in the MCU was previously slated to appear in Daredevil: Born Again. As mentioned, though, those plans have since been scrapped. This development was shared on X by @DDevilUpdates via insider @DanielRPK.
“Kamala Khan was reportedly considered to appear in ‘DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN,” the caption states. “However, her father Yusuf Khan will appear in the show instead.”

The removal of Iman Vellani’s character, Kamala Khan, seems to be the result of whatever “retooling” happened behind-the-scenes on Daredevil: Born Again. It’s likely that the underperformance of both Ms. Marvel on Disney Plus and The Marvels in theaters also had a hand in convincing the studio to scrap her character’s plans. It’ll still be interesting to see, then, what kind of impact this has on the overall series – and when exactly we’ll get to see Ms. Marvel next.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional news regarding Daredevil: Born Again and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we have it. For now, it looks like fans should adjust their expectations if they thought Ms. Marvel would be appearing in Daredevil: Born Again. Interestingly, however, we should expect to see her father – Yusuf Khan.
