Marvel Studios and Sony have been hard at work with developing Spider-Man 4. The success of Spider-Man: No Way Home and its predecessors has no doubt added plenty of pressure to making sure the MCU project turns out well. As such, it may be interesting to note a report that Sydney Sweeney is wanted to portray Black Cat in Spider-Man 4.
This is interesting for a number of reasons. For one, Sydney Sweeney is a massive Hollywood star and she would no doubt make a terrific Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy, for the MCU. Also worth noting, however, is that Sweeney already portrayed Julia Cornwall, one of the characters known as Spider-Woman, for the box office flop Madame Web.
Of course, given her talents and popularity, it’s not surprising that Marvel Studios or Sony would still want to work with her. Additionally, thanks to projects like Deadpool & Wolverine, we’ve seen many controversial or divisive actors and characters have a new chance at the spotlight in the MCU.
It would make sense, then, that the studios might want to give her another chance to shine via Spider-Man 4. This time, however, Sydney Sweeney would portray the new character Black Cat, as shared by insider @MyTimeToShineH.

There weren’t many other details shared by the insider, who delivered these details to their subscribers. However, he did add that Daredevil: Born Again directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are in talks to direct the fourth Spider-Man outing for the MCU.
Obviously this should all be taken with a grain of salt. Especially without an official confirmation from anyone involved. But it’s definitely a move that wouldn’t be too surprising in today’s filmmaking climate – after all, we are getting Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more Spider-Man news as we have it, including any concrete details regarding the potential involvement of Sydney Sweeney. At the very least, fans were quite supportive of her work in Madame Web, and they’d no doubt be happy to give her another chance at playing a superhero. Especially one as popular and alluring as Black Cat.
