The MCU was preceded by several stand-alone Marvel adaptations in the 1990s and 2000s, with the Wesley Snipes blockbuster Blade being one such example. Now, twenty years after his last appearance in Blade: Trinity, Wesley Snipes has returned as Blade for the movie Deadpool & Wolverine. Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is now going one step further, pushing for a “Logan-like” send-off for Wesley Snipes.
The idea was pushed by Reynolds in a new tweet the actor made on X. As you can see below, he really emphasizes the importance of Wesley Snipes and his work on the Blade movies. Fans have certainly shared these sentiments for years, though seeing a major player like Reynolds say it front-and-center definitely means a lot.
Here’s what he shared:
“There is no Fox Marvel Universe or MCU without Blade first creating a market. He’s Marvel Daddy. Please retweet for a Logan-like send off.”

Many fans were excited by Reynolds’ proposal for a new Blade movie with Wesley Snipes, and the responses are loaded with support. As of this writing, the post already has more than 48,000 retweets, and it’s nearing 200,000 likes. Perhaps it’s an idea Marvel Studios really should consider.
It’s certainly sweet to see Reynolds be so supportive of Snipes receiving his own send-off movie. After all, before working together in Deadpool & Wolverine, the two were both involved with Blade: Trinity. Of course, this was long before Reynolds would become Deadpool, and he played alongside Blade as Hannibal King. Though they were said to have not gotten along on the set of that film, it’s certainly great to see their friendship as it stands today.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more MCU news as we have it. Though there isn’t any Blade movie in the works with Wesley Snipes at this time, fans would definitely be happy to see him return to the role. Especially now that audiences have already gotten a taste of an older, stronger Blade in Deadpool & Wolverine.
