The trends that follow streaming can be quite fascinating to see unfold. While platforms often cancel shows for not performing well, these same shows can then perform unexpectedly well for other services. In this case, a series that did well before being canceled by Showtime has managed to become Netflix‘s most streamed show.
The aforementioned canceled series was added to Netflix on May 31, it quickly overtook it by June 9. This was noted by Nielsen in their list of Streaming Ratings.
The data reveals that the Showtime series, once added to Netflix, managed to reach the top of its list with total minutes viewed. This reveals that the series, which only has two seasons, has managed to earn as many as 1.53 billion minutes across both Netflix and the streaming service Paramount Plus.
The series, titled Your Honor, was originally aired via Showtime as a single-season miniseries. It performed so well for the network that they decided to add a second season, though it was then announced that it would be the final season for the show. As such, seeing the canceled series break so many records after being added to streaming is quite astonishing.
And, regarding Bridgerton, Netflix’s previous most streamed show, it’s already fallen close to 42% week to week on the list. This means that the show has finished with 806 million minutes. And, while that’s still plenty, it does bring the series close to the bottom of the Top 10 list and proves just how successful Your Honor has become.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional news regarding the latest streaming trends and if there will be any more news regarding the hit series Your Honor as we have it. Though it seems unlikely that the series will be brought back for another season, anything is clearly possible, especially when numbers like these have allowed the title to dominate Netflix.
