The 2006 television series Dexter, which ran from 2006 to 2013, was a major hit for Showtime during its run. It was later followed by a limit series continuation titled Dexter: New Blood in 2021. Now a prequel series is next, with Dexter: Original Sin revolving around a young Dexter Morgan and his family.
The first look at Dexter Morgan as he’ll appear in the new series has been shared below via Variety. Actor Patrick Gibson will portray this new iteration of the character, taking over from Michael C. Hall who played Dexter in the previous two shows. Other cast members include Christian Slater as Harry Morgan and Molly Brown as Debra Morgan.
Here’s the first look at Dexter: Original Sin which includes our first look at young Dexter Morgan and the rest of the Morgan family:

The series takes place 15 years prior to the events of the original show. As such, there’s plenty of ground to cover as we see how Dexter Morgan transforms into the serial killer vigilante that we know him to be in the classic series. Fortunately, it should come together quite nicely with the different aspects of the Morgan family all being represented.
In addition to Gibson, Slater, and Brown, the cast of the series also includes Patrick Dempsey as Aaron Spencer, James Martinez as Angel Batista, Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka and Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt. Sarah Michelle Gellar will guest star as Tanya Martin, Dexter’s new boss at the Miami Metro Police Department.
