Tim Burton’s iconic 1988 horror comedy Beetlejuice is finally getting a sequel. Fans have already received several previous glimpses at the long-awaited continuation, but this new trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice gives us our best look at the film yet.
The footage does line up with previous trailers, in that Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz now has a daughter named Astrid played by Jenna Ortega. Excitingly, Ortega has many more scenes in this trailer that give fans a better idea of her character and how she’ll interact with her mother. Additionally, Michael Keaton is also given more screen time in this trailer, and his return as Beetlejuice is perfectly on cue.
It’s not always easy to make a sequel to a classic movie, especially when so many years have passed. Fortunately for Beetlejuice fans, it does look like Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is going to live up to the expectations held by moviegoers. The footage includes fan-favorite roles, exciting new characters, and a beautiful display of both practical effects and crisp modern visuals.

Fans won’t have long to wait for the sequel, as the film is set to be released in early September. In the meantime, though, this trailer is a great display of the gags and emotions that will no doubt come together to make this Beetlejuice sequel a film to remember.
In addition to Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Jenna Ortega, the film also stars Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe.
Tim Burton returned to direct the sequel which was written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, with a story by Gough and Miller and Seth Grahame-Smith.
