At one point in time, it seemed as though the entire world had their eyes on Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The two celebrities famously went to court against one another, with each accusing the other of alleged domestic abuse and other atrocities. After the case went in favor of Depp, however, Amber Heard moved to Spain where she’s been living under a new name without any new projects to speak of.
The first part isn’t exactly news, as it was previously reported that she was living in Spain under the pseudonym Martha Jane Cannary. The name was inspired by real-life Wild West sharpshooter Calamity Jane. And, with this new identity, she’s since been happily living in the country with her daughter, Oonagh Paige.
It’s been reportedly easy for Heard, especially since she can speak fluent Spanish and easily get along with the locals. Though many have been curious if she would ever make a return to the United States, and similarly, if she would ever make a return to acting.
Her last roles, In the Fire and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, were released at the end of 2023. Before that, her previously acting roles were beginning to slow down, presumably due to her conflicted schedule given the various legal issues she faced and the pandemic. As shared on IMDb, however, Amber Heard has no projects lined up at all at this point.
It seems, then, that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be her final film for the foreseeable future. And, given the negative reception that particular movie received, it’s not exactly the best note to go out on. As such, we’ll have to see if she ever makes a return to acting – or if the public would want her to.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional news regarding Amber Heard as we may have it. For now, however, she seems to be content living her life in Spain with Oonagh and stepping away from acting. At least, for the time being, that is.
