Many fans seem to be divided over the Star Wars franchise and the release of its latest iteration: the Disney Plus series The Acolyte. Many fans have described the series as being too “woke,” and now Elon Musk is agreeing by slamming Lucasfilm for making such decisions when it comes to Star Wars.
Specifically, Elon Musk made a comment towards Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Kennedy has received much of the blame from fans that feel as though Star Wars has become overloaded with propaganda.
As you can see below, when someone shared a post on X that labeled Kathleen Kennedy as a “Franchise Killer” alongside various threats from the Star Wars universe, Musk had to respond with his own Star Wars reference insulting Kennedy. Here’s what he wrote:
“She’s more deadly than the Death Star!”

Musk also claims in a separate post that “Kathleen Kennedy is super bigoted against men.”

Though complaints have been made against Disney’s newer Star Wars projects ever since the release of The Force Awakens in 2015, it seems to have reached a new level with The Acolyte. The Disney Plus series, created by Leslye Headland, introduces a coven of witches that appear to create life without men by using their interpretation of the Force.
Headland, being a queer woman, has made it clear that some of her ideologies have made their way into the series. However, she does not believe The Acolyte is overly LGBTQ, something she allows viewers to interpret in their own way. If they find queer themes in the series, then Headland has iterated she’s happy for them and won’t disown them, but that it wasn’t her biggest intention.
Nevertheless, as the franchise continues to make broad steps forward, it certainly risks additional backlash – especially with not only fans, but bigger influencers like Elon Musk as well. As such, we’ll have to see what happens. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the Star Wars franchise and the next potential reaction from Elon Musk as we have them.
