The current combination of traditional television and streaming platforms has allowed many unexpected projects and properties find new life. One such property has witnessed a rather successful revival over the last few years. Now it looks like the beloved series is once again coming back to television.
The animated series from MTV Entertainment Studios is the latest iteration of a beloved brand that’s endured since 1993. Though it’s been decades since its initial premiere, the show’s two titular characters have proven their ability to entertain in any year (with any age) and deliver hilarious satire as a result.
Now, as shared via Comedy Central in the below trailer, the show’s most recent season will be moving from Paramount Plus to the Comedy Central television network on July 10. This will follow the television premiere of the franchise’s most recent movie on July 3 as well.
For those unaware, the franchise is none other than Mike Judge‘s Beavis and Butt-Head, which has been hilariously revived as part of a multimedia effort. The Paramount Plus movie Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe kicked off the revival, with a television series following not long after.
In addition to the previously-released film and second season of the show making their Comedy Central debuts, it’s been announced that the series will return for a third season next year in 2025. Fans are no doubt in for a treat, and considering it’s been so many years since the show began, it’s great to see that Beavis and Butt-Head are as dumb-witted and oblivious as ever before.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Beavis and Butt-Head updates as we have them. After so many years without the characters, aside from a short-lived one season revival in 2011, it’s great to see that Beavis and Butt-Head are back and seemingly bigger than ever. Hopefully more news will be released on the show’s third season as we approach 2025.
