Celebrity Justin Timberlake has been arrested, with accusations that the 43-year-old was driving drunk. He was pulled over by authorities on June 18, with the actor having been driving early in the morning and allegedly ran through a stop sign and swerved out of his lane.
As shared by Fox News, the arresting officer claimed in documents from the incident that Timberlake “performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.” Additionally, he was described as having “bloodshot and glossy” eyes, a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath,” and her was also “unable to divide attention.”
Other symptoms described in the report says that he had “slowed speech” and was “unsteady afoot.” As such, signs do point to Timberlake having been drunk behind the wheel. The NY Post says the singer muttered under his breath, “This is going to ruin the tour.”
A statement from the Suffolk County district attorney’s office says that he was arraigned Tuesday morning in Sag Harbor, located on the eastern end of Long Island.
Justin Timberlake is currently scheduled to appear virtually for his first court hearing on July 26 after being arrested. He’s said to have been charged with one count of driving while intoxicated. He also faces citations for failure to keep right in addition to failure to stop at a stop sign.
At this time, Timberlake had been busy with his music career. He has been in the midst of touring, with several shows scheduled for this weekend in Chicago. He’s also set to perform in New York the week after that. As such, we’ll have to see if this has any impact on his scheduled appearances or if he will continue to perform as planned.
