Author Stephen King has contributed numerous short stories, novellas, novels, and screenplays to the horror genre. As such, it’s always exciting to see his responses to new works even if they’re related to his own or not. As for one newly-released slasher movie, Stephen King had some rather positive thoughts to share.
As you can see below, shared by Stephen King on his own X account, he notes that slasher fans will be pleased if they’re in the mood for a brand-new slasher flick. In fact, King emphasizes that “when the blood flows, it flows in buckets.”
Obviously this is everything a fan of horror movies like Halloween, Friday the 13th, and more recent successes like Terrifier needs to hear. Especially if they just want a gruesome time with a raging, masked serial killer. And this film does offer an all-new villain to fit that mantle.
Here’s what else King had to say about the film titled In a Violent Nature:
“IN A VIOLENT NATURE: If you need a slasher movie, this one will do the job. It’s leisurely, almost languorous, but when the blood flows, it flows in buckets. The killer in his mask looks like the world’s most terrifying Minion.”

It’s no surprise that In a Violent Nature is getting so much attention, even from the likes of Stephen King. After all, while the horror film is an homage to such preceding hits as Friday the 13th, it takes a unique direction by portraying the film from the perspective of its killer. Obviously not all viewers have resonated with such a different take on the genre, but it’s enough to keep many easy-to-satisfy slasher fans happy.
In a Violent Nature is currently playing in theaters.
