The Star Wars franchise recently gave fans a glimpse into the time before the Skywalker Saga with the Disney Plus series The Acolyte. The new live-action Star Wars show takes place around a century before the events of The Phantom Menace. As such, a number of surprising reveals are being made in The Acolyte, and that includes the existence of life-creating lesbian witches.
The new Star Wars coven was revealed in the third episode of The Acolyte. Mae and Osha, played by Amandla Stenberg, are a pair of twins that have led the series so far. However, the third episode reveals their past, showing a history on the new planet Brendok. In addition to giving viewers their origin story, it further explains why Mae hopes to kill four Master Jedi.
This past begins when the two girls are met by their two mothers in the forest. Jodi Turner-Smith and Margarita Levieva play Mother Aniseya and Mother Koril, respectively, and they’re each revealed to be members of a coven of witches. The witches seem to be similar to the franchise’s Nightsisters, albeit much more peaceful, as they have a knowledge of the Force but tend to separate themselves from the Jedi.
Aniseya leads the coven and hopes to keep her children far away from the Jedi Order. Of course, since they’re Force-sensitive, they must be taken to be trained as Jedi. Obviously Aniseya doesn’t want this, as she hopes to train them in her own coven’s ways and additionally learn to work together – which is not always the way of the Jedi.
#TheAcolyte Episode 3 the final nail in the coffin, the destruction of Star Wars is finally complete, the Force is Female, lesbian witches can create “life” using the “thread” long before Darth Plagueis.

Interestingly, a Jedi does spy on the two girls and asks Aniseya who their father was. Aniseya replies in The Acolyte that there was no father, and it’s revealed that she used her knowledge of the Force to bring to life two embryos within her lesbian partner Mother Koril.
It’s certainly an interesting way to create a new direction of storytelling for the franchise, so we’ll have to see what happens next. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the Disney Plus series The Acolyte and any other Star Wars offerings as we have them.
