It may not be a surprise to note that Netflix has officially canceled yet another fan-favorite series. Unfortunately for fans of this very wild Netflix drama series, it only lasted for a single season before being concluded.
As a result of this conclusion, fans are taking to social media to share their thoughts. Naturally, many of them are rather upset that the storylines established in the show’s first and only season won’t receive any follow-ups. It’s become a common issue in the streaming era, and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like things are getting any better.
Interestingly, this particular series does happen to be based on an existing novel. For the sake of adapting this story to television, however, the series does have a different ending altogether than the book it’s based on. This no doubt further fuels the frustration felt by fans of the show.
The Netflix series, titled A Man in Full, includes some rather extreme sequences and twists throughout its single season. This leads to show’s ending which is drastically different from its literary counterpart. This conclusion begins when Charlie (Jeff Daniels) walks in on his wife Martha (Diane Lane) having sex with another man, Raymond Peepgrass (Tom Pelphrey)
The book ultimately ends with Martha and Raymond staying together. For the television series, however, Martha leaves after Charlie walks into the room. Charlie, looking at Raymond who is still erect for having taken Viagra, begins to strangle him. In this fit of rage, however, Charlie has a heart attack – and the two ultimately die together.
It’s obviously a very different ending, and one that has fans unable to move on from the series. Due to its single-season story, however, it looks like viewers won’t have any other choice. In the meantime, here are some of the complaints they’ve shared on social media:
A man in full is exactly why I don’t like limited series. Where do I go from here? pic.twitter.com/BxppVjx10i

I binged A MAN IN FULL and the series is kind of a mixed bag but I was definitely entertained, quite engaged too, I don’t normally binge
Plus whatever accent Jeff Daniels chose was … well a CHOICE! pic.twitter.com/L6565ftcBF— Danny – friend of KRAVEN (@Eckospider) May 13, 2024
a man in full on @netflix was one of the best limited series I have ever watched. Storyline, characters and visual camera work was superb. pic.twitter.com/2mznpe1L1N

At the very least, fans seem to be both amused and shocked by what does exist of the series, which seems to have been the intentions of its creators. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the latest titles to be canceled, renewed, or added to Netflix as we have them. For now, fans can stream the single season of A Man in Full via Netflix.
