Pride Month has gotten off to a rocky start for Adele fans. The celebrity recently had a show at Las Vegas, and at one point during the show, and audience member appeared to shout “Pride sucks.” In response, Adele decided to blast the attendee and defend the LGBTQ community. However, other reports now suggest that the heckler actually said “work sucks.”
As first shared by Daily Mail, the event specifically took place during a showing at Caesar’s Palace. An alleged heckler in the audience appeared to make the comment, and Adele’s response was rather quick. She had quite a bit to say while supporting the LGBTQ community, especially with it being Pride Month.
Here’s what Adele had to say in defense of Pride:
“Are you f****** stupid? Don’t be so f****** ridiculous. If you have nothing nice to say, shut up, all right?”
However, some alleged attendees of the show have stated that the supposed heckler was actually trying to agree with Adele’s statements about working that she shared moments prior. In addition to those saying they actually heard “work sucks,” a video was also shared which seems to also indicate that they were actually just saying that and not “Pride sucks.”
You can hear him say “work sucks” here.

This is far from the only time that Adele has shown her passion for Pride. In addition to celebrating other Pride Months in the past, she has frequently shown support for the LGBTQ community during both positive and negative times. As such, it’s no surprise that he had such strong words for the heckler in her audience.
Adele’s first album, 19, was released in 2008. She quickly became a sensation in the years since, having grown into one of the best-selling music artists worldwide. Her albums 21 and 25 have each become major best-selling albums, becoming certified diamond in the United States, which happens to be the most of any artist that debuted in the 21st century.
