Fans were delighted to see the first glimpse of the long-awaited sequel to Beetlejuice, cleverly-titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, with the teaser trailer earlier this year. Now Warner Bros. Discovery is gifting fans with another look at the film – and the new official trailer promises even more exciting and hilarious moments from everyone’s favorite ghost with the most.
In addition to Michael Keaton’s titular character, the film brings back several other stars from the original while introducing a few major newcomers. A few of the other original stars returning include Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz and Catherine O’Hara’s Delia Deetz, while Jenna Ortega will be taking on the role of Lydia’s daughter.
It certainly seems as though this particular sequel will be worth the long await. The film not only has a great cast involved, but it’s also been said to rely on classic practical effects and gags as opposed to the CGI effects that have become commonplace in today’s industry. Fans can even expect to see stop-motion effects much like the iconic sequences featured throughout the original Beetlejuice movie.
Here’s the new official trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice:
It’s likely that more glimpses will be released as we approach the film’s September release date. In the meantime, this trailer is definitely worth getting excited over, especially for those who felt the initial teaser – as great as it was – didn’t feature enough footage from the film.
Tim Burton returned to direct Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with the screenplay written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar based on a story by Seth Grahame-Smith. The feature is produced by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tim Burton, Tommy Harper, Marc Toberoff, and David Geffen.
Fans will be able to see Beetlejuice 2 when it hits theaters on September 6, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on this highly-anticipated sequel from Tim Burton as we have them. For now, however, it’s certainly shaping up to be quite the continuation. Especially if this newly-released trailer is any indication.
