There are several highly-anticipated Marvel projects still headed our way this year. However, it’s just been announced that one of those Marvel movies has been delayed until December.
The film was originally intended to be released during the summer. Many fans have been excited to see the film because it’s intended to bring a fan-favorite comic book character to the big screen for the first time. Unfortunately, those excited will have to wait a few more month.
The upcoming film is part of Sony’s adaptations based on their rights to the Spider-Man franchise. Though the studio has been collaborating with Marvel Studios on live-action projects featuring the titular superhero, they’ve began making their own franchise with side characters and foes.
One such character, Kraven the Hunter, is finally getting his own movie with Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular villain. It’s this very film that has now been delayed from its original August 30, 2024 release date until December 13.
This is certainly an unexpected change, but given this year’s theatrical slate and the reception to Madame Web, it’s possible that Sony found December a better time to release the film. Likewise, it’s been revealed that the next installment of their Venom series – Venom: The Last Dance – is scheduled to be released this October on October 25.
J.C. Chandor directed Kraven the Hunter which is set to be a R-rated installment. In addition to Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the cast of the film also includes Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe. A teaser trailer was previously released which showed some of these cast members in action.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional news regarding Sony’s Marvel projects in addition to the mainline Marvel Cinematic Universe as we have them. As for now, it looks like any Marvel fans excited to see the delayed movie Kraven the Hunter will now have to wait until December to do so.
