The modern Transformers film franchise has seen as many as seven films released to date. However, fans will be excited to know that an all-new animated movie, Transformers One, will mark the eighth film in the franchise. Now the official trailer for Transformers One has also been released.
In addition to being an animated film, Transformers One will be a new prequel for the film franchise, one that reveals the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Furthermore, the film will be set on the iconic location Cybertron, which will no doubt be an exciting setting and time period to experience. Especially if this trailer is any proper indication.
Of course, this is far from the only animated movie in the long-running Transformers franchise. But, being set in the modern continuity of films, and establishing a new visual style and cast, it certainly will be unique. Chris Hemsworth will portray the voice of Optimus Prime for the film, and if that’s not special enough, it will actually be his first animated feature film. According to Hemsworth, he joined the film after being impressed by its screenplay.
Here’s the official trailer for the all-new animated movie Transformers One:
The cast of the film includes Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax aka Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16 aka Megatron, Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1, Keegan-Michael Key as B-127 aka Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion. The film will also feature an appearance from Steve Buscemi.
Transformers One was directed by Josh Cooley with Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari, Steve Desmond, and Michael Sherman having penned the film’s script.
