Elliot Page revealed some interesting details in his new memoir Pageboy. Specifically, Elliot Page reveals that he had sex “all the time” with his co-star from the hit film Juno.
The 2007 film Juno was one of Elliot Page’s most successful early roles. He played the titular character, Juno MacGuff, whose best friend is Leah played by Olivia Thirlby. According to 36-year-old Page, it was Thirlby that he had sex with constantly at the time.
As shared by People, he specifically wrote in his memoir that Thirlby, also 36-years-old, was the “first woman I had a suitably consensual sexual relationship with.”
He continued to explain that while they were each the same age, she just seemed much more mature to Page:
“We were the same age, but she seemed so much older, capable and centered. Sexually open, far removed from where I was at the time.”
Page calls their chemistry together “palpable,” and notes how he was “embarrassingly shy” around Thirlby. After they soon became friends, Thirlby told Page “I’m really attracted to you,” and Page reciprocated the statement. They then began “sucking face. It was on.”
Elliot Page continues by listing the locations in which they apparently had sex during the production of Juno:
“We started having sex all the time: her hotel room, in our trailers at work, once in a tiny, private room in a restaurant. What were we thinking? We thought we were subtle,” he wrote. “Being intimate with Olivia helped my shame dissipate. I didn’t see a glint of it in her eyes and I wanted that — done feeling wretched about who I am.”
It would be several years later that Page came out as gay in 2014, and later trans in 2020. As for Thirlby, she came out as bisexual in 2011. While she did marry Dredd co-worker Jacques Pienaar in 2014, they later divorced in 2021. As for Pageboy, the memoir about Elliot Page’s life is now available for purchase.
