Fans have waited decades for Beetlejuice 2. Now, as you can see below, the official Beetlejuice Beetlejuice trailer confirms that the time has finally come.
The new film unites director Tim Burton with stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara. They’ve all returned to portray their fan-favorite roles as “Betelgeuse,” aka Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz, and Delia Deetz, respectively.
Beetlejuice 2 also features a number of newcomers to the cast. Audiences are no doubt excited to see that Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, and Monica Bellucci will also be in the film as all-new characters. Ortega will be playing Lydia’s daughter, Astrid, with Dafoe as a ghost detective and Bellucci as Betelgeuse’s wife.

Hopefully we’ll have additional glimpses at the film in the near future. For now, this is an exciting moment for fans. Especially after all this time. There have been numerous attempts to get a sequel to Beetlejuice off the ground ever since the first film hit theaters in 1988.
The most notable attempt for a Beetlejuice sequel has been, quite hilariously, Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian. This unmade sequel can be traced as far back as 1990. As such, it’s about time that a new movie finally happened.
Tim Burton returned to direct Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with the screenplay written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar based on a story by Seth Grahame-Smith. The feature is produced by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tim Burton, Tommy Harper, Marc Toberoff, and David Geffen.
The all-new sequel to the hit classic is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024. After all this time, the film is finally happening, and we’ll be able to see it later this year.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Beetlejuice 2 as we have them. The highly-anticipated sequel certainly looks as though it will live up to the expectations from fans. Of course, we’ll just have to see how the film does when it hits theaters this September.
