The state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe appears to be constantly shifting. As such, it can be difficult to determine what characters might appear next, if at all, and what projects their future appearances could be in. Now one Marvel star has assured fans that their return to the MCU will, in fact, happen.
This particular star, having appeared in both the Disney Plus and theatrical sides of things, has certainly secured a spot in the cinematic franchise. Due to the poor financial performance for The Marvels, however, it was still unclear for fans of the franchise if she or her co-stars would be returning.
Now, as shared during the 2024 Anime Awards, this particular star has confirmed that they’ll be returning to the MCU at some point. Though they weren’t able to share much more than that.
Here’s what Iman Vellani, star of Ms. Marvel and The Marvels, shared about her return as Kamala Khan at some point in the future via CBM:
“I have been assured,” she said.
“So that feels good, but there was no more assurance than that. [laugh] They give me breadcrumbs, and I try and make a meal out of it.”
It’d certainly be interesting to see what place in the MCU Iman Vellani has going forward. The conclusion of The Marvels does confirm suspicions that fans had regarding her true identity as a mutant. This would certainly fit in with the addition of the X-Men coming in the near future, and furthermore, would allow her a place in either a future X-Men film or a Young Avengers movie.
