The highly-anticipated film Superman: Legacy is set to launch a new shared-universe titled the DC Universe. As such, fans are eager to see how the new movie comes together. Now our first look at the Superman: Legacy cast has been shared in a brand-new photo.
According to writer and director James Gunn, who posted the photo on his Instagram profile, this was taken “after the table read with the #Superman cast.” He continues to share the names of the characters that they’ll be playing in the film:
“Eve, Mr. Terrific, Superman/Clark, Otis, Lex, producer Peter Safran, Jimmy, Metamorpho, Lois, Hawkgirl, me, Guy, The Engineer all together for the first time! What a wonderful day.”

The cast of the film includes David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillon as Guy Gardner, and Isabela Mercad as Hawkgirl.
It’s an impressive cast that should certainly make Superman: Legacy an enjoyable film of its own and a great way to launch a shared universe of new superheroes and supervillains. Hopefully we’ll have more updates in the near future as we dive deeper into the film’s production.
James Gunn will direct Superman: Legacy from a screenplay he wrote. Peter Safran will produce the film. The original Superman character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
