Netflix offers a diverse selection of films and shows to choose from. As such, subscribers have many different personal favorites, some of which get to be continued by the service for years to come. Other shows, unfortunately, end up canceled by Netflix – and it’s been revealed that they’ve just axed five beloved shows.

Cancellations on the streaming service aren’t uncommon. Especially as the service weighs the pros and cons for the costs of what they produce or distribute. Unfortunately, it looks like these five beloved shows just didn’t offer enough for Netflix to continue them.

All five of these particular shows were canceled before receiving a second season. This is upsetting because all five of these shows spanned different genres and styles. For now, fans are going to be left with some major cliffhangers and unanswered questions.

The five shows canceled by Netflix include the following K-dramas which are now being described as “limited series” to indicate they won’t be expanded upon:

    Doctor Slump

    My Demon

    The Bequeathed

    Welcome to Samdalri

    Captivating the King

It’s definitely unfortunate to learn that these various shows are being stopped with only a single season to their name. Of course, as mentioned above, it’s not surprising these days for streaming services to consolidate their programs or even remove them altogether.

Furthermore, one can hope that the existence of so many K-dramas on Netflix can motivate the platform to acquire other such programs for subscribers. It’d certainly be a great direction to further expand their catalogue of international films and shows.

Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Netflix updates as we have them. For now, this is certainly upsetting news for any subscribers that hoped to see their favorite K-dramas continued. At the very least, fans can continue to stream the single seasons of these shows for as long as they’re available on the platform.
