The Borderlands video game franchise has been one of the most successful video game properties in recent years. As with other great video game properties, however, it’s now being adapted for live-action. Now fans can see their first taste of the all-new Borderlands movie with a trailer shared below.
A live-action film based on Borderlands has been in development since 2015. Now, close to a decade later, it’s finally coming together. The new trailer confirms this after such a long wait from fans.
This is certainly an exciting way to introduce the new iteration of the franchise. Of course, fans will have to wait until August before getting to see the full film. Nevertheless, this trailer certainly suggests that it will live up to the wait that fans have endured so far.
Here’s the first official trailer for the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of Borderlands:
After Eli Roth left fans with a delightful treat late last year in the form of the slasher hit Thanksgiving, it looks like he’s on a winning streak already. Hopefully he’ll surprise audiences just as much with Borderlands as he did with Thanksgiving, which similarly took a tremendous amount of time to get made.
Eli Roth directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Crombie.
The massive cast of Borderlands includes Jack Black as Claptrap, Florian Munteanu as Krieg, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland, and Gina Gershon as Moxxi.
Edgar Ramirez, Janina Gavankar, Cheyenne Jackson, Charles Babalola, Benjamin Byron Davis, Steven Boyer, Ryann Redmond, and Haley Bennett also star in the film.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the upcoming Borderlands movie as we have them. For now, however, fans have this exciting new trailer to hold them over. Hopefully more glimpses at the film will be released our way soon.
