Disney has been going through their vast library of animated titles to create modern live-action remakes. Excitingly enough, however, they’ll be going into some different territory with a new iteration of Lilo & Stitch. Now, as you can see below, our first look at the titular characters has been revealed with some new Lilo & Stitch set photos.
It seems as though the fans who are looking forward to seeing Lilo and her alien-companion Stitch make a comeback won’t have much longer to wait. In the meantime, however, these set photos are quite revealing regarding the titular characters.
As you can see below, Lilo is played by Maia Kealoha and she certainly looks the part. As for Stitch, it’s unknown if he’ll be brought to life via CGI, animatronics and puppetry, or a combination of the three. There is some kind of “stand-in” or “prop” that was pictured on set, however, that proves the character will be quite faithful to its animated counterpart.
The two characters appear to be sitting in a little car, and it’s possible that the different shots will be edited together to make it look as though Stitch is driving Lilo around. Hopefully we’ll get to see more from the film in the near future. Especially if production really did wrap.
