Fans of DC will recognize Henry Cavill as having played Superman in the ill-fated DCEU. As such, without any obligation to reprise his role for DC, it looks like Henry Cavill could have moved to the MCU instead.
The MCU, fully-known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been developing steadily for close to two decades now. The franchise consists of both film and television projects, and with no sign of slowing, there are plenty of roles for Henry Cavill to play.
One popular theory is that he’d be attached to play Doctor Doom for the upcoming film The Fantastic Four. It would certainly be interesting to see him play a villain as opposed to a superhero. According to insider @MyTimeToShineH, however, there’s a different role for Cavill.
The insider claims that Henry Cavill not only received an offer to join the MCU – but that he accepted it. And, according to his post, it’s not a role to play Doctor Doom in The Fantastic Four. Here’s what the insider shared:

Of course, it’s unclear what alleged role that would be given to Cavill that isn’t Doctor Doom. According to some of the replies, however, fans are intent on believing that it’s none other than Captain Britain. And, considering Cavill’s British roots, he would certainly make a good pick for the character. It would also be a humorous way to contrast with his prior role as Superman.
Overall, we’ll have to see how this situation pans out. Cavill himself has discussed the possibility of playing Captain Britain in the past, so it certainly seems like a possibility.
