Disney has its hands in a number of projects that include movies, television, and theme parks. Unfortunately, it’s been revealed that a park at Walt Disney World is being shut down after months of issues.
The overall location includes a total of four theme parks and two water parks. The theme park locations include Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom. As for their two water parks, those include Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.
The two water parks are scheduled to be opened or closed in an interesting way. One park tends to stay open, while the other is closed for scheduled maintenance. Of course, some guests might also be disappointed that only one water park at Walt Disney World is available at any given time.
Blizzard Beach, having most recently opened on November 6, 2023, is scheduled to close on March 16, 2024. This will allow Typhoon Lagoon to be the next opened water park beginning on March 17, 2024. As noted via Inside the Magic, however, this is disappointing because there were quite a few closures at Blizzard Beach which is now causing the location to close early.
As noted by the publication, Blizzard Beach previously “closed due to rain back in November,” which occurred “just a handful of weeks after its seasonal opening.” Additionally, Blizzard Beach “was also closed for several consecutive days during Christmas and New Year’s Eve due to cold temperatures the whole week.”
They further add that the park had to close several times throughout December due to “chilly weather.” It’s certainly disappointing, then, that the park has to close now after so many issues throughout the last few months. Of course, that’s possibly just a result of the timing for the park being placed during some of the coldest months of the year.
