Marvel Studios has been developing a new iteration of Blade for several years now. As such, fans are eager to know what story they can expect from the film. Now a variety of plot details for the upcoming Blade film have been reportedly revealed.
The film has underwent several numerous changes over the years. More recently, Yann Demange has taken over as the director of the film. Additionally, actor Mahershala Ali has been tapped to portray the film’s titular character.
Now, according to insider Daniel Richtman, we have some more details regarding the project. He reports that the film is “still a period piece” and also “still very much rated R.” This will no doubt please fans that have been worried that it would be a PG-13 adaptation.
Of course, given that these details aren’t confirmed, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. As for the film’s plot, he reports that Mia Goth‘s character – Lilith – will be attempting to get blood from Blade’s daughter. Her goal will be to create her own army of Daywalkers using her blood.
Furthermore, Lilith is said to be using the Ebony Blade. This weapon was previously teased to appear during the post-credits scene for Eternals. Interestingly, however, the actor from that scene – Kit Harington – is said to not be returning as his character Dane Whitman aka The Black Knight.
Hopefully we’ll have more concrete Blade plot details released by Marvel Studios in the near future. Of course, the film’s production has been taking plenty of time to get off the ground, so we’ll have to see if any of this changes even if it is true at this time.
The new revival of Blade is currently scheduled to be released on November 7, 2025. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on the film as we have them.
