The Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally tying in with Fox’s X-Men movies following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. After several cameos throughout some of the franchise’s most recent installments, Deadpool 3 will focus fully on Ryan Reynolds’ titular character and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. This is evident in the newly-released trailer for Deadpool 3 which is titled Deadpool & Wolverine.
The first film in the Deadpool franchise was released in 2016. It took plenty of work for the film to finally get off the ground. This effort paid off as it became one of the studio’s most successful X-Men projects. They followed the film in 2018 with Deadpool 2 where they finally teamed Deadpool up with his fan-favorite comic book enemy-turned-partner Cable, played by Josh Brolin for the film.
Now Marvel Studios will finally bring another highly-requested partnership to the big screen. Deadpool and Wolverine will finally have their chance to fight and team up in full comic-accurate glory. This is something fans have wanted for years and never thought they’d get, especially with Jackman’s previous swansong Logan.
Now, however, it’s clear that fans are finally getting what they want. Here’s the official trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine which reveals as much:
It’s an exciting glimpse at the long-anticipated comic book movie sequel. Fans are eager to see these characters on the big screen yet again, this time with the added playground of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and other Marvel properties.
Shawn Levy directed the film from a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick as well as Zeb Wells, Ryan Reynolds, and Levy. In addition to Reynolds and Jackman, the cast of the film also includes Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jennifer Garner.
