The 2018 horror film A Quiet Place was a massive success for Paramount. Naturally, it received a sequel, and now the franchise is branching off to create its own cinematic universe. This will now include the spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One – the trailer for which you can see below.
As the title suggests, the film will be a prequel. It will tell the story of how the aliens first arrived on Earth. The original film chose to place its characters in a post-apocalyptic world, which worked great, but fans obviously have their own set of questions. Now we will have some of these questions answered.
Here’s the first official trailer for A Quiet Place: Day One:
It’s definitely going to be exciting seeing how this universe first became the world we see in the original film. Additionally, with A Quiet Place Part III in the works, it looks like we’ll still be seeing direct sequels to the original two movies as well. It’ll definitely be a good time for fans of this franchise.
The original film from Paramount earned $341 million worldwide on a budget of only $17 million. The sequel, budgeted between $55 and $61 million, continued this box office streak by earning $297.4 million worldwide in spite of a pandemic-era release. Now we’ll have to see how well A Quiet Place: Day One does at the box office.
Michael Sarnoski both wrote and directed the film after penning the story with John Krasinski. The cast of the film includes Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, and Denis O’Hare.
The highly-anticipated spin-off will be available to experience in theaters on June 28, 2024.
