Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has returned for its 25th season. However, some viewers are quite upset by the latest episode at the time of this writing. Now the new Law & Order episode is receiving backlash on social media as a result.
The controversial episode, “Truth Embargo,” aired on January 25. The X account that shared a clip from the episode, titled @libsoftiktok, summarized the plot in the video’s caption.
“Woke character in Law & Order is a white woman who was r*ped by a black guy,” the account writes. “She declines to press charges because she’s privileged and doesn’t want the black perpetrator to go to jail.”
The account adds the final line to drive their point across:
“White people are privileged so they shouldn’t seek justice for r*pe!”
The storyline of the episode revolves around Romina D’Ugo’s character named Natalie. She is raped by a Black man named Jay Watson, played by Mykey Cooper, and shows hesitance in pressing charges against him. Her hesitance is explained by Brooke, her lesbian partner, played by Keeley Miller.
Brooke explains Natalie’s hesitation as follows:
“She’s inconsolable,” Brooke begins. “We’re acutely aware of the systemic inequities that exist within the criminal justice system.”
Furthermore, she claims that Natalie feels as though Watson won’t “receive a fair trial” as a result. This is further addressed by Mariska Hargitay’s Captain Olivia Benson:
“Well, I can’t deny that there’s a history of racial bias. It’s certainly not a perfect system.”
The court trial for Watson concludes after Natalie officially identifies him as her attacker. He claims to have “learned [his] lesson,” and furthermore, the district attorney agrees to a please deal because he took “responsibility” for having raped Natalie.

This character is right to say she needs therapy but for more reasons than she realizes.
She’s only hurting herself and other future victims by not putting the man who did this behind bars for as long as legal.
What a shameful display.
Sadly, some people act this way for real.

What type of message is this sending to real victims of rape?

This is a dangerous line of thinking many woke white women are pursuing.

The entire Woke Empire is built on the shaky foundation of “white guilt” and “rich guilt”!

Mainstream entertainment is just brainwashing at this point.
