The first season of the Netflix series Wednesday was a massive success for the streaming platform. Nevertheless, while fans were quite pleased with the overall show, there were still quite a few complaints from viewers. Now star Jenna Ortega has confirmed there will be changes for Wednesday Season 2.
In addition to those viewers who had complaints, it’s no surprise that Jenna Ortega herself had her own issues with the show. Now it looks like the second season of Wednesday will be rectifying these issues with some rather exciting changes.
Jenna Ortega shared this news with Laverne Cox during Live From E!: Emmys. She teased that the new season will actually have a somewhat bigger focus on horror:
“I’ve received some scripts now for the second season, and we’re definitely leaning into a little bit more horror,” Ortega told Laverne Cox. “It’s really, really exciting because all throughout the show [Wednesday] never really changes and that’s what’s wonderful about her.”
Excitingly, Jenna Ortega now has more control with the series as she’s a producer on the Netflix show’s second season. Here’s what she shared about the new season being “bigger” and how each episode will essentially be “more like a movie.”
“There’s some really good one-liners and I think everything is bigger. It’s a lot more action-packed. I think each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.” Ortega revealed.
Jenna Ortega has certainly done a terrific job at giving fans a new iteration of Wednesday Addams to appreciate. Now she’s doing everything she can to make sure all goes well behind-the-scenes as well.
