Netflix is one of the biggest streaming services in the market. Of course, that hasn’t kept the platform safe from backlash. In fact, a new Netflix movie is already facing a major complaint from its viewers.
Interestingly, as you can see below, many viewers all seem to share the same thoughts regarding the film. The new feature, which dropped on January 19, takes place in a dystopian version of London with an emphasis on the gap between the rich and poor.
This gap begins the plot of the film which revolves around the elimination of social housing. In spite of this, however, a location that the film is named after is all that remains.
The film, titled The Kitchen, has prompted a number of social media users to share their thoughts on the film. Their thoughts all seem to point towards the same major complaint, however, and that’s that The Kitchen has left them feeling confused.
Here are the tweets featuring the same common complaint against the Netflix title:
So I finished watching the kitchen and idk where I got lost at but the end confused me

It’s unclear if The Kitchen will eventually find a greater audience as so many films panned upon release have. However, there does seem to be a large viewership for the title, so we’ll have to see if The Kitchen continues to cause confusion or if viewers will come around.
Kibwe Tavares and Daniel Kaluuya both co-directed The Kitchen in their feature-length directorial debut. The screenplay for the film was written by Kaluuya and Joe Murtagh. It’s said to have started development as early as 2014.
The cast of the film includes Kane Robinson, Jedaiah Bannerman, Hope Ikpoku Jr., Teija Kabs, Demmy Ladipo, Cristale, BackRoad Gee, Rasaq Kukoyi, Reuben ‘Trizzy’ Nyamah, Henry Lawfull, Alan Asaad, and Ian Wright.
