Marvel Studios recently made the decision to creatively overhaul Daredevil: Born Again. This has opened up a new gateway for the studio to acknowledge the various Netflix Marvel shows as canon and incorporate their characters again. Now it’s been revealed that another fan-favorite character is set to return in Daredevil: Born Again.
Many new details regarding the upcoming project have been released now that production has been picked back up. The series recently went on hiatus during last year’s SAG-AFTRA strike. Now, as shared in a new report, it looks like the newly-resumed shoot will include a fan-favorite actor’s return.
As mentioned, there are already a variety of fan-favorite characters and cast members coming back for Daredevil: Born Again. This, of course, includes Charlie Cox as the titular Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as his nemesis Kingpin.
Now ComicBook.com reports that actor Wilson Bethel will be returning as his character Benjamin Poindexter for Daredevil: Born Again. Of course, fans will recognize the other identity of Benjamin Poindexter as Bullseye. It looks like the iconic Daredevil villain will be making a comeback in the new Disney Plus show.
However the publication does note that “it’s unclear how extensive his role will be.” As such, this should be taken with a grain of salt, but they do insist that he “will, in fact, appear” during the events of Born Again. Hopefully we’ll have more concrete details in the near future. Especially as production on the series continues.
It’s certainly been interesting to see the production of this show evolve over time. Many shows don’t look like they’re headed in a healthy direction after so many changes and production issues. Fortunately, however, it looks like the right steps are being taken with this particular series.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Daredevil: Born Again updates as we have them. It’s extremely exciting to see this series will now be much closer to its Netflix predecessor, and that we’ll get to have the continuation that fans have been eager to get for years now.
