The Marvel Cinematic Universe is pushing forward, albeit with a few changes, and several new films and shows will lead the way. Many fans suspected that some of these projects were previously scrapped, including one highly-anticipated Disney Plus Marvel series, though that no longer looks to be the case.
Marvel Studios has been involved with a number of major changes recently. For starters, they began a creative overhaul of the Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again which led to all of their Netflix shows now being considered part of the main MCU canon. This is far from the only surprise the studio has to offer.
As shared below, via X, it looks like the aforementioned Disney Plus series that was previously thought to be cancelled is actually filming once again. This is quite unexpected after the book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios suggested that the project would be scrapped.
Now we can see numerous set photos and videos have surfaced online depicting the production of Wonder Man in Los Angeles. Fans were excited for the Disney Plus series which would revolve around fan-favorite character Simon Williams, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II for the show. Obviously this led to major disappointment when it looked like the show wouldn’t be happening.
But with images and videos that feature a silhouette of Simon Williams and a logo to match, it’s clear that the Wonder Man series is still happening:

In addition to Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, the series will also feature the return of Ben Kingsly as Trevor Slattery. He previously portrayed the character of Slattery in Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Demetrius Grosse is also set to appear as Simon’s brother, Eric Williams, otherwise known as Grim Reaper. It’s expected that his role will be the villain of the series.
Hopefully we’ll have more official details regarding the production of the Disney Plus Marvel series Wonder Man in the near future. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for more news as we have it.
