The fifth season of Stranger Things is currently in production. Many fan-favorite cast members are set to return for the new season. Unfortunately, it looks like one cast member won’t be reprising their role for Stranger Things Season 5.
The fourth season of the series introduced a number of new characters along the way. Fans expected most, if not all, of these characters to play a role in the show’s fifth season. Though it looks like one of the actors for the show’s fourth season didn’t get a call to come back.
This was revealed in a recent interview. Here’s what Varley had to ask the actor towards the end of his interview:
“Before I let you go, I just want to ask real quick, because it’s on everyone’s mind. You don’t have to answer this, but fans kind of went to a panic with the cast photo of Day One of Stranger Things Season 5. Now they’re thinking you’re not in the season. Can you give us hopes that you are? And can you say anything if not? “
Here was the response that Eduardo Franco delivered to Steve Varley:
“It’s nice to hear that there’s, there’s some sort of, you know, concern or something, you know what I mean? But I’ve never, I never got a phone call. So I think, yeah, I think that’s it.”
Eduardo Franco says he never got a call to return as Argyle for the final season of ‘STRANGER THINGS’.

Eduardo Franco played the fan-favorite character Argyle in the fourth season. He was Jonathan Byers’ best friend and worked as a pizza delivery person for Surfer Boy Pizza. His performance was both comical and fresh to the series, so it’s certainly disappointing to see that he won’t be coming back.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the production of the fifth and final season for Stranger Things as we have them. It’s certainly going to be an important time for fans of the show as it concludes its main storyline. Of course, there will be plenty of spin-off projects that are currently in the works.
