The Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again is set to reintroduce Charlie Cox’s Daredevil into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new series follows the cancellation of the Netflix series Daredevil and the special appearances that Cox made as the character in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk. Now we may know who will be joining Cox in Daredevil: Born Again as the show’s main villain.
In addition to Cox’s return as Daredevil, the series is set to bring back Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. While fans are certainly excited to also see Kingpin make a return, especially after his appearance in Hawkeye, a new rumor suggests he won’t actually be the show’s main villain.
According to a new rumor, a much darker character could be the key antagonist of Daredevil: Born Again. This lines up with a previous report from the insider that this Marvel character would play a role in the show. Of course, it was unknown how much of a role he could have. Now it looks like he could very well be the big bad.
Daniel Richtman’s report claims that none other than Muse will be the main villain of Daredevil: Born Again. Of course, this has yet to be announced by Marvel Studios, so fans should take this report with a grain of salt. For those unfamiliar, Muse is a rather disturbed character and one unlike those that Daredevil has faced in the past.
Muse happens to be a deranged artist and serial killer all in one. He has a tendency to create artwork using the blood from his victims. This is interesting because not only does it suggest that it will be a much darker turn than the original Netflix series, but it could be one of the darkest MCU projects yet.
Many fans were worried that the series would be watered down, especially given that this show was intended for Disney Plus. As such, we’ll have to see if this rumor turns out to be true. It could mean big things for the future Marvel and Daredevil’s place within the brand.
