Celebrity Amber Heard has been at the center of drama regarding both her legal troubles with ex-husband Johnny Depp and her role in the DC movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Now, following the release of Aquaman 2 in theaters, Heard has made the decision to thank her fans on social media.
As of this writing, Amber Heard seems to have been trying to move on from the drama. After losing the lawsuit against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, she moved to Spain with her daughter, Oonagh. Heard has remained adamant about getting her life back on track, with an openness to continue acting for the right projects.
Of course, during all of this time, fans and curious viewers were waiting on the release of Aquaman 2. Amber Heard completed her scenes for the film prior to her lawsuit with Depp, and it took quite some time before the film finally hit theaters.
The film, which has a budget estimated between $205 million and $215 million, has currently grossed $276 million worldwide at this time. In addition to the lackluster box office performance, the Aquaman sequel has received negative reviews.
Despite all this, however, Heard is quite happy to see the film finally make “its splash.” Here’s what she shared via social media:
“After all this time, Aquaman 2 made its splash (sorry, it’s too easy). Thank you to all of my fans for the overwhelming support and love in Mera’s AQ return. Thank you so much.”

It’s certainly interesting to see Amber Heard acknowledge Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and thank her fans for the support. Obviously the film isn’t performing anywhere near as well as its predecessor, but such is to be expected with the final installment of the DCEU.
We’ll have to see what the DCU has in store for the future – and where Amber Heard plans to go from here. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them.
