Influencer Natalie Reynolds is facing backlash for having worn body paint to a gym. She claims that her decision was made as part of a “social experiment.”
This experiment was shared on social media. She can be seen in a clip where a fellow gym member politely calls her attire “inappropriate.” He continued to tell Reynolds that she’d have to leave the gym:
“If you don’t have clothes on,” the gym member continued, “you need to be out of here, ma’am.”
“I do have clothes on,” Reynolds replies.
“Not fine,” the gym member answers back. “I work in the industry enough to know. I work in the entertainment field.”
The gym member also acknowledges that Reynolds and her camera crew aren’t supposed to “videotape” in the gym. Now that the clip has been shared online, however, social media users are piling on the backlash. They seem to agree that her outfit was inappropriate for the gym.
Here’s the clip and some of the responses that have surfaced as a result:

This is indecent exposure. You should be on the Sex Offender registry

That dude was 100% right. He called out your degenerate behavior and you played victim

And the guy is right. Imagine a man walking around the gym like this, he would be kicked out and banned for life.

As he should. You were in the wrong. If the rules weren’t clear enough, then Gym Etiquette should be obvious to you. People are there for gains, not whatever this is.
You deserve to be ridiculed. Bar none.

Natalie Reynolds later issued her own responses to the backlash:
“Why everyone acting like I was naked lmao. The amount of women who wear pants up the ass at the gym… This is nothing bad at all.”
She also makes comparisons to “a guy YouTuber” who could have made the same video:
“So a guy YouTuber makes a video just like this but when I paint myself everyone is acting like the world is ending. Let me get my gains and shredded in peace pls.”

It seems as though most users agree that Reynolds should have following proper gym etiquette when visiting the establishment. Additionally, quite a few users expressed how disappointed they are with influencers taking advantage of their status to create videos that go against social norms. For a location like a gym, where etiquette and hygiene are necessary, it certainly makes sense that people would be upset.
