There are a number of projects in the works for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, there are plenty of projects that exist only as rumors or scrapped concepts. According to a new report, however, one particularly mysterious Marvel Studios project may still be happening.
When developing their MCU projects, Marvel Studios will make use of certain trademarks. For films and television shows, they use a certain type of trademark for “entertainment services.” Now, according to a new rumor, they may have uncovered one such trademark that points to the aforementioned movie project.
It’s worth noting that Marvel Studios is said to have let various trademarks regarding this project expire in the past. One particular trademark, however, was spotted by Murphy’s Multiverse as being recently filed. Here’s what they shared:
“As with everything else they make, Marvel Studios filed one of these for Nomad and while they’ve let all the other trademarks die, this one remains alive and well. In fact, the studio has taken measures to extend the trademark on several occasions including recently.”
Of course, this should still be taken with a grain of salt. As the publication notes, “it may well mean nothing.” The project has never been officially announced, so it could be looked over completely or at the very least take much more time to develop.
Nevertheless, it’s interesting to see that Disney is still interested in the trademark. For those that are unaware, the Nomad project would presumably revolve around actor Chris Evans and his return to the Captain America role. This would reveal what happened to the character when he returned the Infinity Stones.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates for this potential project as we have them. It’s worth noting that it could also have the chance of becoming a Marvel television series rather than a movie project. As such, we’ll just have to see what happens.
