Ryan Gosling is an actor whose career spans a number of varying film roles. Now, however, fans could see Ryan Gosling enter the superhero genre via the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The shared universe of fan-favorite Marvel characters that includes the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor has been expanding to include a number of newcomers. The franchise continues to expand every year with new movies and television shows, and according to a new rumor, fans could see Gosling enter the fray.
Many previous rumors have circulated that Ryan Gosling could actually appear in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. The new film has to introduce new members of the titular superhero team in addition to some major villains. Many fans have felt that Gosling could easily have a part on the team, or on the other hand, a part of someone like Doctor Doom.
According to Daniel Richtman, however, it’s unknown if Gosling is actually in official talks with the studio or if he could appear as a superhero or supervillain. Thus it’s unknown what character he could potentially play or for what project. All Richtman alleges is that Gosling has had conversations with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.
Interestingly, Ryan Gosling has spoken more about joining the MCU in recent years. Though he didn’t specify anything in particular, he did express an interest in Ghost Rider. Many fans have been eager to see the character adapted for the franchise in a capacity beyond Agents of SHIELD. What better way than with Gosling at the helm?
Additionally, Gosling recently departed Blumhouse’s upcoming adaptation of The Wolf Man. The Wolf Man reboot was initially set to star Gosling for several years before it was recently announced that he would only be involved as a producer. It’s possible that he’s trying to free up his schedule to further pursue a career with Marvel Studios.
As always, we’ll have to see what happens. Until any official announcement is made, this should be taken with a grain of salt. But fans would no doubt love to see Ryan Gosling get involved with Marvel. Especially with the positive reception to his role as Ken in the live-action Barbie movie.
