Sydney Sweeney is set to appear in the upcoming Spider-Man spin-off Madame Web. She’ll be appearing as Julia Carpenter, aka Spider-Woman, in the highly-anticipated blockbuster. As it turns out, however, Sydney Sweeney appears to have had a surprise spider moment of her own while filming her new movie Anyone But You.
While on the set of Anyone But You, Sydney Sweeney was actually bitten by a Huntsman spider. And while the film happens to be a romantic comedy, it certainly looks like it turned into horror quite fast.
The horrifying moment was caught on camera as well. While such moments are often considered bloopers, Sweeney is clearly shocked by the arachnid creature. She lets out a scream and jumps back in terror as she struggles to get the spider off her.
Here’s a clip shared via X of the unexpected moment:

Fortunately, although Huntsman spiders do produce painful bites, they actually don’t have venom that’s harmful to humans. This means that while Sweeney was obviously upset and in pain, she wasn’t in any real danger when the spider bit her. Sadly, it also doesn’t mean that she’s going to end up with any special spider powers either. But according to doctors on set, they checked her and confirmed that her condition was fine.
It’s not often that such an event happens on set, especially with it being caught on camera. Additionally, it doesn’t often happen to someone associated with the Spider-Man franchise.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Sydney Sweeney and her expanding film career as we have them. Hopefully this is her last such encounter with spiders that doesn’t include the Spider-Man film franchise. Especially considering how hyped fans are to see her tackle the role of Julia Carpenter in live-action.
