The Marvel Cinematic Universe began to center heavily around the presence of Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror. The multidimensional villain appeared in Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, with plans to reappear as a new variant in other projects – namely Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. After Majors was found guilty, however, speculation has surfaced that Kang could be recast.
After all, with Kang the Conqueror being such an important villain, it would make sense that Marvel Studios would want to keep using the character. As for Majors, the actor is no longer involved with the studio, so it makes sense that a recast is likely. It’s either that or they simply write the character out of the story.
Fans have seen both directions taken by Marvel Studios with characters in the past. For example, Harrison Ford replaced actor William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. On the other hand, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther character was officially killed off after Boseman passed away.
Now, as shared via social media, users are beginning to speculate who could be used to recast Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. There are quite a few interesting choices, many of which match the character quite well. And considering his ties to the Multiverse, in which endless different variants of Kang should exist, it wouldn’t be too hard to craft one that’s played by another actor.
Here are some of the tweets shared via X regarding who could take over the role:

Ultimately, we’ll just have to see how Marvel Studios plays their cards now that Jonathan Majors has been found guilty. Hopefully whatever happens, it won’t be an issue for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially as the shared film and television franchise begins some of their biggest storylines yet.
