One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s most exciting elements is that, in addition to their Avengers films, is that most superhero members often receive their own stand-alone film. For example, 2012’s The Avengers was built upon Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger. Now one Avengers star claims to have been silenced by Marvel when bringing up the possibility of their own film.
It’s certainly taken some Avengers cast members longer than others to receive their own solo projects. For example, Scarlett Johansson’s own movie, Black Widow, wasn’t released until 2021. She first portrayed the role in the MCU, however, in 2010’s Iron Man 2. Likewise, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye first appeared in 2011’s Thor before appearing in the Disney Plus series Hawkeye in 2021.
On that note, one of these solo projects is not like the other. 2008’s The Incredible Hulk actually stars Ed Norton in the titular role. Mark Ruffalo didn’t take the part until The Avengers, and now that he’s portrayed the character in every project since, fans have been eager for him to have his own solo film.
This is a question directed towards Mark Ruffalo from Comic Book. As mentioned, however, the Avengers star seems to have been silenced by Marvel from discussing the possibility. While this doesn’t confirm any actual movement on such a film, it does look like Disney is working on making it happen.
Here’s what Ruffalo shared:
“I’ve been asked not to comment on it, that specifically. Hopefully one day though they’ll work it out. I think it could be really cool and I’ve been putting a lot into what it could be to be cool, but I don’t know yet.”
We asked Mark Ruffalo about a stand-alone Hulk movie for the MCU, and he told us he’s specifically “been asked not to comment on it” lol pic.twitter.com/YzNDeGSHGc

Fans would no doubt love to see Mark Ruffalo tackle his own solo Hulk project. As for now, fans will have to settle for his supporting roles in other projects like the Avengers crossovers and the Disney Plus series She-Hulk. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional news as we have it.
